Microsoft has released an update for OneNote 2003. This update fixes an issue that occurs when you write with the pen on some touch screen devices. The pen stroke is visible only as long as the pen is touching the screen.

How to determine whether the update is installed

To determine which version of the Onmain.dll file is installed on your computer, follow these steps. Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. In Windows, click Start, and then click Search.
  2. In the Search Results dialog box, click All files and folders under Search Companion.
  3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Onmain.dll, and then click Search.
  4. In the resulting list of files, right-click the Onmain.dll file, and then click Properties.
  5. On the Version tab, determine which version of the Onmain.dll file is installed on your computer.

Features for administrators to use to reinstall specific components

You can run a command line that includes the REINSTALL=[list of features] property when you update your administrative installation point and then recache and reinstall OneNote 2003 on client computers. Use this property to specify whether you want to reinstall specific components of OneNote 2003 from the administrative image.
