Consider the following scenario:
You create root directories and assign them to users in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based domain.
You create junction points from a shared folder to the corresponding user’s folder on the mounted volume.
You use File System Resource Manager to create a disk quota for each user.
In this scenario, users cannot move a file from one folder to another folder when they connect to the shared folder by using a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path.
Note This problem does not occur if disk quotas are not created for the users.
This problem occurs because of an issue with the Filter Manager that manages the implementation and the deployment of file system filters.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. To install this hotfix, the computer must be running Windows Server 2003 R2.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.
The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
