FIX: Error message when you try to install a ClickOnce application that you created in the .NET Framework 2.0 onto a client computer that is configured to use a proxy server: "Proxy authentication required"
- You create a ClickOnce application in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
- You publish the ClickOnce application to a deployment server.
- A client computer is configured to use a proxy server that requires authentication.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Restart requirementIf you apply this hotfix within 15 minutes after you perform a ClickOnce operation, you must use one of the following methods for the hotfix to take effect:
- Restart the client computer.
- On the client computer, close all ClickOnce applications, and then wait until the Dfsvc.exe process exits.
Note The Dfsvc.exe process shuts down automatically after 15 minutes.
