This article describes how to insert a file into Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 so that it appears as readable text.
When you insert a file into OneNote 2007, the file is inserted as an embedded object. An icon that represents the file appears where the embedded object is located. To view the contents of the file, you must open the file from OneNote 2007.
To insert a file so that the file appears as readable text in OneNote 2007, click Files as Printouts on the Insert menu.
Note When you insert a file as a printout, an image of the file is inserted into OneNote 2007.
If you want to insert a file as a printout in OneNote 2007, make sure that the program in which the file was created is installed on the computer. Or, make sure that a viewer for the file is installed on the computer. For example, if the file is a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 presentation, one of the following items must be installed on the computer:
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 Viewer
After you insert the file as a printout in OneNote 2007, you can resize the image or move the image to a different location on the page. You may want to do this if you want to add notes to the image.
