A Visual J# .NET application may not correctly load different versions of the same class from different assemblies on a computer that is running Microsoft Visual J# .NET Redistributable Package 2.0.
Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Visual J# .NET application:
You use the Java.Lang.Class.forName method to load a Visual J# .NET class from a specific assembly.
You load a different version of the same class from a different assembly.
In this scenario, you may experience the following symptoms:
If you use the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, the application always loads only the first version of the class.
If you use the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, you receive a RuntimeException exception error message when the application loads the second version of the class.
This problem also occurs if the following conditions are true:
You use the Java.Lang.Class.forName method to load both the .NET Framework 1.1 class and the .NET Framework 2.0 class in the application. However, you load these classes from different assemblies.
Then, you use the Class.FromType function to retrieve the class.
Note This problem only occurs when you use the Visual J# .NET runtime or the library code.
