Quarantined items have an English (United States) date format (MM/DD/YYYY) instead of the date format that is configured in the regional settings on the server when you use the Antigen 9.0 for Exchange client to view the items

When you use the Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange client to view items in the quarantine database, the quarantined items have an English (United States) date format (MM/DD/YYYY) instead of the date format that is configured in the regional settings on the server. Depending on local settings, messages that are quarantined might be lost if quarantine purging is configured and enabled. This is because certain messages might appear older than they really are. For example, a message that is quarantined on July 2, 2006 (MM/DD/YYYY) might be purged. This is because local settings might cause the date that the message was quarantined to instead appear as February 7, 2006 (DD/MM/YYYY).

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

Note If additional issues occur or if any troubleshooting is required, you might have to create a separate service request. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for this specific hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Customer Service and Support telephone numbers or to create a separate service request, visit the following Microsoft Web site: Note The "Hotfix download available" form displays the languages for which the hotfix is available. If you do not see your language, it is because a hotfix is not available for that language.

The following list contains prerequisites for the update:
  • To install this hotfix you must have Microsoft Antigen 9.0 build 1055 installed.
  • Before you apply this hotfix, we recommend that you verify any quarantined data and process that data for the respective message recipients before the quarantined records are processed by Antigen daily maintenance. By default, Antigen performs daily maintenance at 02:00 local time. This hotfix corrects the date format for new records only. Existing records that were created with an incorrectly formatted date before you applied the hotfix will remain incorrect and the data may be lost. By default, quarantine records that are more than 30 days old are deleted by Antigen during daily maintenance.

Restart requirement

The hotfix installation automatically stops and restarts services. If services cannot be stopped, or if certain files are open, manually restart the computer to finish the hotfix installation.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.
