On a client computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Microsoft Windows Server 2003, you to try to open the Printer Properties dialog box for a network printer that is connected to a Windows Server 2003-based domain controller. However, you receive the following error message:
Function address address caused a protection fault. Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed.
To resolve this problem, you must remove the printer and the associated printer driver, install the appropriate hotfix, and then reconnect to the network printer:
Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
Click the printer, and then press DELETE. Click Yes to verify.
On the File menu, click Server Properties.
Click the Drivers tab.
Click the driver for the associated printer, and then click Remove. Click Yes to verify.
Install the hotfix that is described in this article.
Note This step can be performed before the other steps in this procedure.
Connect to the network printer.
Note You must use an administrator account to perform these steps.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
