When you try to install Microsoft Windows Defender on a remote terminal server, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
MSI (s) (00:E4) [17:32:26:353]: Product: Windows Defender -- Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.
When this issue occurs, the installation is unsuccessful.
We do not support the installation of Windows Defender by using Terminal Services. However, you can install Windows Defender from a console session on the terminal server.
