When you uninstall Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta), the following four files may not be removed from the System32 folder:
File nameDateTimeFile size
Gccollection.dll11/15/200512:12 PM126,680
Gcdef.dll08/04/200404:00 AM76,800
Gctypliba.tlb04/22/200512:58 PM328,128
Gcuncompress.dll11/15/200512:12 PM95,448
This problem occurs if the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool is installed on the computer after Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) is installed.
To resolve this problem, manually delete these files after you install Microsoft Windows Defender. Windows Defender does not require these files.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
