SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Windows Server 2003, you try to publish a Distributed File System (DFS) namespace root by using the Publish this root in Active Directory option in the Active Directory directory service. However, the DFS namespace root is not published as expected.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Publish this root in Active Directory option is incompatible with Windows Server 2003.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.Note Microsoft has removed the Publish this root in Active Directory option from Windows Server 2003 R2.
