SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You add a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 list, such as a discussion board, to Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. Then, you programmatically try to move items from a mail folder in Outlook 2007 to the subfolder in the SharePoint Lists folder that represents the discussion board. For example, you use the Outlook object model to try to move items from an Inbox folder to a SharePoint Lists subfolder.

In this scenario, you experience the following symptoms:
  • The items are not moved to the SharePoint Lists subfolder.
  • Entries for the items appear in the Local Failures subfolder in the Sync Issues folder.
  • The items are not synchronized to the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 list.
If you use the Outlook 2007 user interface to manually move items from a mail folder to the SharePoint Lists folder, the items are moved as expected. Additionally, the items are synchronized to the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 list.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, programmatically attach the items to a post, and then move the post to the SharePoint Lists subfolder.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
