You cannot use a consumer electronics DVD recorder to record streaming video to a DVD that was formatted with Windows Vista

When you format a DVD on a Windows Vista-based computer, you may be unable to record streaming video such as Live TV to the DVD by using a consumer electronics DVD recorder. The problem occurs when you use any format of DVD recordable discs including DVD+/-R or DVD+/-RW.
This problem occurs because the version of the Universal Disk Format (UDF) that Windows Vista uses does not support Real-Time files.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
