Error message when you install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services: "SQL Server Setup failed to retrieve the SSL Certificate Name"

SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You configure the default Web site in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) to use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate. Then, you install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services on the computer. During the installation process, you specify that you want to install SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. In this scenario, you receive the following error message when SQL Server Setup installs Reporting Services:
SQL Server Setup failed to retrieve the SSL Certificate Name
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Setup program cannot find and cannot retrieve the name of the SSL certificate.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Remove the SSL certificate from the default Web site configuration.
  2. Install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services.
  3. Reconfigure the default Web site to use the SSL certificate.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
