FIX: Binary files may be corrupted when you try to use the Get command to retrieve the files from the history in Visual SourceSafe 2005

Symptoms
When you try to use the Get command in Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 2005 to retrieve versions of binary files from the history, the binary files may be corrupted. Additionally, these files differ from the files that you retrieve by using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0.
Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To work around this problem, use the Get command in Visual SourceSafe 6.0 to retrieve the files.
