Error message when you try to publish an application in Microsoft SoftGrid "Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx04-00000B04"

When you try to publish an application in Microsoft SoftGrid, the operation fails. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client could not publish {application_name}.
The Client could not determine what program is registered to launch SoftGrid applications. Please report the following error code to your System Administrator.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx04-00000B04
This problem occurs if the .osd file type is registered incorrectly.
To resolve this problem, try these methods in the order in which they are listed.

Method 1

  1. On the SoftGrid Client, start Windows Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
  3. Click the File Types tab.
  4. Locate and then click the .osd extension.
  5. Click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm deletion.
  6. Click New.
  7. In the File Extension box, type OSD.
  8. Click Advanced.
  9. In Associated File Type, click Application Descriptor.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Close.

Method 2

  1. On the SoftGrid Client, start Registry Editor.
  2. Locate and then right-click the following registry subkey:
  3. Right-click the (Default) entry, and then click Modify.
  4. In the Value Data (Data) box, type SoftGrid.osd.File.
  5. Click OK, and then exit Registry Editor.
