Error message when you use the Sfttrray.exe command-line tool to start an application in Microsoft SoftGrid: "Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx04-00000C08"

SYMPTOMS
When you use the Sfttrray.exe command-line tool to start an application in Microsoft SoftGrid, you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client could not load the application you requested.
The Client could not determine the type of application to create. Please verify that you are using a file with a valid extension, such as ".osd".
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx04-00000C08
CAUSE
This problem may occur if one or more of the following conditions are true:
  • The .osd file that is specified in the /load parameter does not exist.
  • The application is not in cache.
  • Different versions of applications that have the same name are in cache.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, make sure that the following conditions are true when you use the Sfttrray.exe command-line tool to start an application:
  • The path of the .osd file is correct.
  • The application is in cache.
  • You have specified the version of the application in addition to the name.
