How to check the version of the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server

This article describes several methods that you can use to check which version of the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server you are using.
To check which version of the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server you are using, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Use Windows Explorer
To use Windows Explorer to check the version, follow these steps:
- Open the %ProgramFiles%\Softricity\SoftGrid Server\Bin folder.
- Right-click SFTDispatcher.exe, and then click Properties.
- Click the Version tab.
The version appears next to "File version."
Method 2: Use Telnet
To use Telnet to check the version, follow these steps:
- At a command prompt, type telnet ServerName Port, and then press ENTER.
Note In this step, ServerName represents the host name, DNS name, or IP address of the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server.
For example, type the following at a command prompt:
telnet %SFT_SOFTGRIDSERVER% 554If the connection is successful, the window will be blank.
If the connection is unsuccessful, you receive the following message:
Could not open connection to the host, on port 554: Connect failed
- Press ENTER two times.
You receive following message:
RTSP/1.0 400 Bad Request
Server: Softricity SoftGrid Server/VersionNumber [Win32; Windows NT x.x]
Date: xxx, xx xxx xxxx xx:xx:xx xxx
In this step, VersionNumber represents the version number.
Method 3: Use the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server log file
To use the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server log file to check the version, follow these steps:
- Open the %ProgramFiles%\Softricity\SoftGrid Server\logs folder.
- Open the Sft-server.log file in a text editor.
- In the text editor, search for text that is resembles the following:
Starting Softricity SoftGrid(TM) Server Version VersionNumber (System Dispatcher) In this step, VersionNumber represents the version number.
