Microsoft has released an update for the 2007 Microsoft Office system. This update fixes conversion issues that occur when a document that contains a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 object is opened in an earlier Office program when you use the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack.
Issues that the update fixes
This update fixes the following issue:
922850 You receive an error message when you try to open or to save a file in one of the 2007 Office programs or in one of the Office 2003 programs
This update also fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
You have Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack installed together with a version of Microsoft Office that is earlier than the 2007 Office system. When you open a document that contains a PowerPoint 2007 object in an earlier Office program, conversion issues may occur.
Note "PowerPoint 2007 object" means a .ppt file that is embedded in a document.
