Private Branch Exchange (PBX) software obtains only half of the telephone number of a call in Windows Vista

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
On a Windows Vista-based computer, you use Private Branch Exchange (PBX) software that uses Telephony API (TAPI) to manage telephone calls from clients. However, telephone numbers from the clients are truncated. Therefore, PBX software obtains only half of the telephone number of a call. This problem may affect some features of the PBX software.
This problem occurs because of an error in the TAPI server.

After the client application uses the lineGatherDigits TAPI function to collect digits on a specified call, the Telephony Service Provider (TSP) receives the collected digits. Then, TSP correctly sends the digits to the TAPI server. However, the TAPI server sends only the first half of the digits to the corresponding target application by using the LINE_GATHERDIGITS message. Therefore, this problem occurs.
