The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. You create a marketing list. Then, you use the lookup function to manage the members of the marketing list. In this scenario, you can unexpectedly add inactive records to the marketing list.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. Install this hotfix on computers that are running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 server software or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Microsoft Office Outlook software.

If you are prompted to restart the computer, you must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows 2000, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.System administrators can use the Spuninst.exe tool to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000.

In some cases, you may experience the same problem after you install this hotfix. In those cases, a registry key was not added when you installed this hotfix. To add the registry key manually, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit , and then click OK.
Locate the following registry subkey:
Right-click MSCRM, point to New, and then click DWORD Value to create a new DWORD value.
Rename the DWORD value to the following value:
Right-click MarketingListActiveOnly, and then click Modify.
Type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
Note When the MarketingListActiveOnly registry key is set to 1, inactive accounts/contacts and closed leads cannot be seen when you click Use Lookup to add members. When the MarketingListActiveOnly registry key is set to 0 or deleted, inactive accounts/contacts and closed leads can be seen when you click Use Lookup to add members.
