Bug #: 50001298 (SQL Hotfix)
Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 fix release.
If you are a Small Business customer, find additional troubleshooting and learning resources at the Support for Small Business site.
When you process a dimension that contains many attributes or many members in Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you may experience the following symptoms:
The processing operation of a partition fails.
The processing operation is completed successfully. However, an error message is logged in the SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services log file. The message indicates that some attribute values are missing in the dimension structure.
The processing operation is completed successfully. However, some records in the fact table are not processed.
The processing operation is completed successfully. However, some records in the fact table are converted to the unknown member.
Note You may experience these symptoms depending on the processing configuration options that are used when you process a partition.
This problem occurs because some records in the dimension table are skipped when you process the dimension. Therefore, some attribute values are missing in the dimension structure when the rows in the fact table are processed.

How to obtain the latest service pack for SQL Server 2005
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, this hotfix stops and then restarts the Analysis Services service. If you have configured Analysis Services for HTTP access, you must stop Internet Information Services (IIS) and then restart it after the installation is complete. If you have installed Analysis Services as a named instance, you must stop the SQL Server Browser service. You must take this action because the Msmdredir.dll component of the SQL Server Browser service is updated when you apply this hotfix.
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix is not replaced by any other hotfixes.
