Error message when you use Windows Media Center to play music in Windows Vista: "Audio Error: An unknown audio error has occurred"

When you use Windows Media Center to play music in Windows Vista, you may receive the following error message:
Audio Error
An unknown audio error has occurred.
This error message automatically disappears after several seconds. This error message does not affect the music that is playing.

Steps to reproduce the problem

To reproduce this problem, follow these steps.

Note You can use several methods to reproduce this problem. The following method is one of these methods.
  1. Start Windows Media Center.
  2. Click Music, click the right arrow on the right of the screen, and then click play all to play the music.
  3. Click the Skip button several times very quickly.

    Note The Skip button is the first button on the right of the Pause button.
