The volume label of the storage media is not updated and the AutoPlay dialog box is not displayed after you insert the storage media into a removable drive on a Windows Vista-based computer

You insert storage media into a removable drive on a Windows Vista-based computer. However, the volume label of the storage media is not updated. Additionally, the AutoPlay dialog box is not displayed.

Note This problem occurs intermittently.
This problem occurs because of a race condition in the Shsvcs.dll file. When this problem occurs, the GUID_IO_MEDIA_ARRIVAL device event happens too early. Therefore, the GetVolumeInformation function cannot be correctly returned.
