Error message when you try to start the Works Task Launcher: "INVALID OS"

Symptoms
When you try to start the Microsoft Works Task Launcher, you may receive the following error message:
INVALID OS
Cause
This problem may occur if the shortcut that is used to start the Works Task Launcher is configured to run in compatibility mode.
Resolution
To resolve this problem in Windows Vista, follow these steps:
  1. Click Startthe Start button, point to All Programs, and then click Microsoft Works.
  2. Right-click Microsoft Works Task Launcher, and then click Properties.
  3. On the Compatibility tab, click to clear the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, and then click OK.
Note When you try to start the other shortcuts in Microsoft Works, you may receive an error message that resembles the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section. If you receive an error message, follow steps 1 through 3 to resolve the same problem.
