SYMPTOMS
On a computer that is running an x64-based version of Windows Server 2003, you use the 64-bit version of the Findstr.exe tool to search for strings in a file. However, if the file size is from 2 gigabytes through 4 gigabytes, the tool returns no results.

Note This problem does not occur when you use the 32-bit version of the Findstr.exe tool.
RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
