Consider the following scenario. You receive an X12 997 functional acknowledgement (ACK) in a Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) application. In this scenario, you may receive error messages that resemble the following:
Error encountered during parsing. The X12 transaction set with id '000000013' contained in functional group with id '13', in interchange with id '000000013', with sender id '048463400T ', receiver id '222222222222222' is being suspended with following errors:

Error: 2 (Miscellaneous error) 5: X12_997_Root\AK2Loop\AK2AK3Loop\AK3\ The element 'AK3' has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: 'AK303 AK304'.

Error: 4 (Field level error) SegmentID: AK3 Position in TS: 7 Data Element ID: AK303 Position in Segment: 3 Data Value: 2: Conditional required data element missing
Note These errors may occur if the 997 functional ACK is missing the AK304 segment. The AK304 segment is optional. However, it is required if an error exists for the identified segment. The AK304 segment is the error code for the error in the data segment.
