Description of the files that are cleaned by the Attachment Wiper component in Intelligent Application Gateway 2007

SUMMARY
The Attachment Wiper component is a feature of Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007. Attachment Wiper cleans data on the client computer after the end-user ends the IAG 2007 session. This article describes the data that is cleaned by Attachment Wiper.
MORE INFORMATION
On a computer that is running Windows Vista, Attachment Wiper cleans all items at all required integrity levels. For example, if the site is accessed in protected mode, Attachment Wiper tries to clean all locations at both the medium-integrity and low-integrity levels. If the site is not accessed in protected mode, only the medium-integrity level is cleaned.

The following table provides detailed information about data that is cleaned by Attachment Wiper.
Item NameCleaned LocationPer domain? Comments
Internet Explorer cache and persistent cookiesThe contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder and of the Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 folder, as configured for the user. For example, the following is the default folder that is used in Windows Vista:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
YesIn Windows Vista, the same folders under LOW will also be cleaned.
Microsoft Office 2003 Offline folderC:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\YYY\ZZZ\OfflineNoXXX and ZZZ are folder names that are read from the registry. The folder is cleaned only when all the IAG sessions on the computer are ended. The only items that are deleted are items that were written to the offline folder after Attachment Wiper was first activated, during the initial logon.

  • %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\<FolderFromRegistry >\offline

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSDAIPP
Configured application-specific locationThe deletion of application-specific files is controlled by configuration files. The information for a specific application can be found in the IAG server in the following folder:
\Whale-Com\e-Gap\von\conf\wizarddefaults\AWPaths
For each application, there is a separate .txt file that contains the list of files that are deleted when that application is used.
