Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 fix release.

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services, you have a semiadditive measure that uses the LastNonEmpty aggregation function. You run a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query that selects the measure by using the VisualTotals function. In this scenario, the query may return an incorrect empty value.
Known issue During ongoing testing, Microsoft identified an issue that was introduced in build 9.00.3215.00. This issue may result in an error message that states that a file is corrupted in Analysis Services after you install Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2. We recommend that you install the latest cumulative update package and process all the cubes that were processed by using the builds that are listed in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 948920.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, this hotfix stops and then restarts the Analysis Services service. If you configured the server for HTTP access, you must stop Internet Information Services (IIS), and then restart IIS after the installation is completed. If you installed Analysis Services as a named instance, you must stop the SQL Server Browser service. You must do this because the Msmdredir.dll component of the SQL Server Browser service is updated during the installation of this hotfix.
You do not have to change the registry.
