Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0. You right-click a form, and then you click Setup. Next, in the User setup dialog box, you click Add fields. Then, you try to select fields in the Select fields dialog box. In this scenario, some fields are not listed in the Select fields dialog box even if these fields exist in the data source of the form. When this problem occurs, you cannot add these fields to the form.
To resolve this problem, change the AllowAdd property of the data source of the field to Yes.
The AllowAdd property of the data source of a field contains the following values:
No If the value of the AllowAdd property is No, users cannot add the field.
Restricted If the value of the AllowAdd property is Restricted, users can add the field if a copy of the field exists in the form. This value is the default setting value.
Yes If the value of the AllowAdd property is Yes, users can freely add the field.
