When you try to create a new cluster in Windows Server 2008 by using the same Cluster Name Object (CNO) as a previous cluster, the operation is not successful. When this issue occurs, Event ID: 5936 is recorded in the system event log.
For example, this problem may occur when you destroy an existing cluster, and then you try to re-create the cluster by using the same CNO.
This problem may occur if one of the following conditions is true:
To resolve this issue, completely remove the CNO from Active Directory before you create a cluster that uses the same CNO again. To completely remove the CNO from Active Directory, type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:
Cluster /destroy [/Y] [/Cleanup[ActiveDirectory]]
