Before installing the Office 2007 suite Service Pack 2, you cannot use Microsoft Visual Basic for Application (VBA) to modify a chart that you have inserted in PowerPoint 2007 or Word 2007

SYMPTOMS
You cannot use Microsoft Visual Basic for Application (VBA) to modify a chart that you have inserted in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 or Office Word 2007.

Note You can use VBA modify a chart that you insert in earlier versions of PowerPoint.
CAUSE
In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 or in Office Word 2007, the chart object model (OM) is no longer available in Microsoft Visual Basic for Application (VBA).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install 2007 Office Suite Service Pack 2. After you install 2007 Office Suite Service Pack 2, you can use Microsoft Visual Basic for Application (VBA) to modify a chart that you have inserted in PowerPoint 2007 or Word 2007. WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use VBA in Excel to modify the inserted chart. Then, paste the chart from Excel into PowerPoint 2007 or Word 2007 by using the VBA Automation techniques.
