Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issue:
  • 949413 Error message when you enable the "Show in Groups" option for a folder that contains thousands of e-mail messages in Outlook 2007: "Outlook is retrieving data from the Microsoft Exchange Server <Server_Name>"
This hotfix fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • The date when an appointment is triggered in Outlook 2007 may be incorrect.
  • Consider the following scenario. You use a Microsoft Exchange Server command to disable the "Out of Office" message for external contacts in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. You type some text for the internal contacts in the Out of Office Assistant dialog box in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. Then, you save the settings. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Error (IDS_OOF_BLANK_EXTERNAL): The auto-reply for people outside your organization cannot be blank.
  • Consider the following scenario. You use a computer that connects to a corporate network such as Microsoft Corpnet. Additionally, you have the ISA firewall client enabled. Then, you try to use the AutoDiscover feature to create a profile in Outlook 2007. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection.
  • When you add a public folder that is enabled for e-mail to Public Folder Favorites, some e-mail messages may be incorrectly moved to the Junk E-mail folder in Outlook 2007.
  • Consider the following scenario. You attach a nine-page .pdf file in an e-mail message in Outlook 2007. You send the message by using a MAPI profile. The recipient resides on the same Exchange server. Additionally, the recipient uses a MAPI profile. In this scenario, the attachment in the received message contains only three pages.

Note This problem occurs because of the new .pdf format that is created on a Macintosh computer.
