In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, you use a Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)-based SAP adapter in a receive location to receive Intermediate Documents (IDOCs) from an SAP application.
An error occurs in the receive pipeline. For example, the receive pipeline receives a message that is not recognized. Or, a message is received that has no subscriber.
In this scenario, the receive location loses its connection. Additionally, IDOCs cannot be received.
From the SAP side, the connection appears not to be there. Any additional messages that are sent to this port fail and then remain in the SAP retry queue. At the receive location, the WCF-based SAP adapter appears as enabled and is displayed to the operator as if it is still functioning. To fix the receive location so that IDOCs can be received again, you must restart the host instance that is being used by that receive location.
