An error message is displayed when you try to create a new application pool in Internet Information Services 7.0
When you try to programmatically create a new application pool in Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0, the operation fails. Additionally, depending on the method of creation that you are using, an error message that resembles one of the following is displayed.
Note Methods of creation include Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and Microsoft Web Administration.

Error 26103. Failed to create metabase key. (-2147024883)Error message 2
SWbemObjectEx: The data is invalid
This problem occurs because the application pool that you are trying to create has a name that is longer than 64 characters. In IIS 7.0, application pool names can have a maximum length of 64 characters.
When you create the application pool, give the application pool a name that does not exceed 64 characters.
