You cannot cache shared mail folders in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
How to obtain the hotfix

How to enable the hotfix
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:
Exit Outlook 2007.
Start Registry Editor:
In Windows Vista, click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate and then click to select the following registry key:
Note You may have to manually create the registry key if it does not already exist on the system.
Right-click CacheOthersMail, and then click Modify.
Type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.
Disable headers. To do this, follow these steps:
On the File menu, and then click Cached Exchange Mode.
Click to clear the following options:
Download Headers and then Full Items
On Slow Connections Download Only Headers
Note This step is required to enable this hotfix. If this step is not performed, Header mode may stop responding or may corrupt data.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
Before this hotfix, you could enable caching of shared non-email folders, such as the Calendar folder, the Contacts folder, the Tasks folder, and the Notes folder. After you apply this hotfix, you can also cache shared e-mail folders, such as the Inbox folder. To enable caching of shared non-email folders in Outlook 2007, follow these steps:
On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
Click the Email tab, click to select the Exchange account, and then click Change.
Click More Settings.
Click the Advanced tab, click to select the Download shared folders (excludes mail folders) check box, and then click OK.
Note These steps will only provide caching of shared non-email folders. If you also want to cache shared e-mail folders, follow these steps:
Make sure that the Download shared folders (excludes mail folders) check box is selected.
Install the hotfix that is described in the "Resolution" section.
Add the registry information that is described in the "Resolution" section.
