This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated August 26, 2008.
List of issues that are fixed
This hotfix fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
You add new attendees to a recurring meeting, and then you send these new attendees an update to the meeting. After you do this, the new attendees will not receive exceptions to the recurring meeting.
You try to access a public folder in Outlook 2003. When you click the public folder, Outlook 2003 crashes. This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
Outlook 2003 is in Cached Exchange mode
The public folder's home server was moved to a new server.
If an appointment contains invalid recurrence data, reminders for the appointment are not issued. This behavior occurs only when Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3) is installed.
In Outlook 2003, you see a link to a Windows SharePoint Services calendar under Other Calendars in the Calendar pane. This link is still present even after you delete the calendar. If you click this calendar, you may receive the following error message:
The operation cannot be performed because the object has been deleted.
After you receive this error message, Outlook 2003 crashes.
When you use Outlook 2003 in cached mode, you can unexpectedly add a global address list (GAL) contact as a delegate in Outlook 2003. You should be unable to perform this action. Instead, you should have received the following error message:
The user 'username' could not be added. Non-local users cannot be given rights on this server.
