Antigen 9.0 for Exchange Service Pack 1 reaches a state in which all nodes contain Antigen registry values that point to the same shared disk on an Exchange Single Copy Cluster (SCC) cluster

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
  • On an Exchange Single Copy Cluster (SCC) cluster, you install Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange with Service Pack 1.
  • The Exchange SCC cluster has two or more Exchange Virtual Server (EVS) instances.
In this scenario, Antigen 9.0 for Exchange with Service Pack 1 can reach a state in which all nodes contain Antigen registry values that point to the same shared disk.

Note The names of the Antigen registry values are APClusterSharedDisk and DatabasePath.

The AntigenService service does not start because the EVS instances are looking for an inaccessible shared disk. Later, the Information Store service cannot start either. This is because of the dependencies that AntigenService has with Exchange.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install Hotfix Rollup 5 for Antigen 9.0 for Exchange with Service Pack 1.
