This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
Consider the following scenario:
A sealed English management pack is installed on a localized version of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1), such as a Japanese version.
A rule or a monitor in this management pack has English product knowledge.
Non-English company knowledge is added into this rule or into this monitor.
You view alerts that are related to this rule or to this monitor.
You try to view existing product knowledge from the properties dialog box of an alert.
In this scenario, you receive the following message:
No Product Knowledge was available for this Alert
Note The expected behavior is that English product knowledge is displayed.

In System Center Operations Manager 2007, management pack files are XML files that can have either an .mp or an .xml extension and that contain monitoring settings for applications and services. After a management pack is imported into a System Center Operations Manager 2007 Management Server, it immediately starts to monitor objects based on default configurations and thresholds that are already set by the author of the management pack.
