FIX: When you run a load test that uses a goal-based load pattern in Visual Studio Team System 2008 Test Edition, you receive a LoadTestGoalCounterNotFoundException exception and an error message that states the pattern cannot be applied
You install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Visual Studio Team System 2008 Test Edition on a computer.
You have a load test that uses a goal-based load pattern.
You use a performance counter from a category that begins with the "LoadTest" string, or you use a single-instance performance counter.
You run the load test.
In this scenario, you receive a LoadTestGoalCounterNotFoundException exception and the following error message:
A new goal based load pattern specified by a load test plug-in cannot be applied because it specifies a performance counter (computer name\counter name) that could not be read: Category ‘category name’ is marked as single-instance. Performance counters in this category can only be created without instance names
Note This problem does not occur in the release-to-manufacturing (RTM) version of Visual Studio Team system 2008 Test Edition.
