Consider the following scenario. You try to turn on or turn off a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) client by using the Out of Band Power control function. The client has an Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT) 4 chipset or an Intel AMT 5 chipset. In this scenario, the Out of Band Power control function does not work.
Note This problem does not occur if the client has an Intel AMT 3 chipset.
System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 omits the address tag when it passes WSMan endpoint references (EPRs) as arguments to Intel AMT devices.
The Intel AMT 3.x firmware stack does not reject requests if the address tag is missing. However, the Intel AMT 4 and Intel AMT 5 firmware stack rejects EPR requests that do not have address tags to be more compliant with the WSMan specification.
