SYMPTOMS
In an Exchange Server 2007 environment that has Unified Messaging (UM) enabled, a UM IP gateway can still be used to dial out for a "Play on Phone" request after the UM IP gateway is disabled. Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: MSExchange Unified Messaging
Event Category: UMCore
Event ID: 1075
Description: The Unified Messaging server received a Play on Phone request from "<user name>". The calling number "<extension>" is dialing "sip:<extension>@<IP address>;user=phone" using the IP/VoIP gateway "<IP address>".
CAUSE
Exchange Server 2007 does not check whether the gateway is disabled before the Exchange server adds the gateway to the list of gateways.
