You remotely manage a Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006 computer or an ISA Server 2006 array by using the ISA Server Management console. On the Monitoring tab, you can list active sessions. However, if you try to disconnect a Web proxy session, the action fails, and you receive the following error message:
The task was not activated. The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
The ISA Server Management console calls ISA Server by using remote procedure call (RPC). This problem occurs because the ISA Server Management console uses an invalid remote server name when it calls ISA server.
To resolve this problem, apply the hotfix that is mentioned in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
960148Note You must install this hotfix on both the computer that is running the ISA Server and the computer that is running the ISA Server Management console.
