Consider the following scenario:
You install the Client Status Reporting feature in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2.
You configure a named instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as the Client Status Reporting database.
In this scenario, the operation fails, and you receive the following error message:
The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. Please see the 'Info' tab for more information.
This problem does not occur if you configure the default instance of SQL Server 2005 as the Client Status Reporting database.
This problem occurs because the Configuration Manager 2007 Client Status Reporting dialog box that is used to set Client Status Reporting database does not support named instances. Instead, a hard-coded string is included in the database setting.
