In Microsoft SQL Server 2005, when you try to create a full-text index on a table, you receive the following error message:
You also receive this error message when you try to change a full-text catalog.

Full-text crawl manager has not been initialized. Any crawl started before the crawl manager was fully initialized will need to be restarted. Please restart SQL Server and retry the command. You should also check the error log to fix any failures that might have caused the crawl manager to fail.
This issue occurs because the SQL Server FullText Search engine cannot load the value of the
FTSGroupregistry entry from the following registry subkey. Therefore, the crawl manager cannot be initialized.
Note In this subkey, x in the MSSQL.x entry represents the corresponding value for the instance ID in the system.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.x\Setup\
To resolve this issue, make sure that the value of the
FTSGroupregistry entry is the security identifier (SID) of the group that is created for SQL Server FullText Search. To set the correct SID of the
FTSGroupregistry entry, follow these steps:
