Consider the following scenario. You debug a Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based project, and you reach a breakpoint. You edit in the source code, and then you continue to debug. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
However, the Error List window displays no errors.
Edits were made which cannot be compiled.
Note This problem occurs only when you edit syntactically wrong code.

To work around this problem, stop the debugging session, and then perform a regular recompile. The compiler errors will be displayed in the Error List window.
