This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
SYMPTOMS
"Error 91 Object variable or with block variable not set" followed by "Failed to create GL index." This error occurs when trying to set an Epicor Vantage company as default in Microsoft FRx.
CAUSE
This error occurs when the Microsoft FRx database is setup for 3 segments when the accounting structure is only 2 segments. This can be seen by querying the frl_sys_options table in the database and viewing the value of the max_seg_num field. This value will show as 3.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, apply the latest patch from Vantage which resolves this issue. Or you can update the value manually by:
  1. Open SQL Enterprise Manager.
  2. Locate the FRx database and expand the Tables node so all tables are displayed.
  3. Locate the "frl_sys_options" table, right click and select Open All Rows.
  4. Scroll to the right and locate the max_seg_num field and confirm that it is set to 3.
  5. Change the 3 to a 2 and close the window.
MORE INFORMATION
The Epicor Vantage patch is 6.10.535.
