970944 Description of the Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook.msp): June 30, 2009
To set the download mode for IMAP accounts in Outlook 2007, install this hotfix and set a value for the
registry entry under either of the following registry subkeys:
1 - Force a Send/Receive when Outlook exits for the default Send/Receive group
The registry entries can be set in either the regular section or the policy section of the registry. When the registry entry is set for the sync options, the sync options are locked in the user interface (UI) for the Send/Receive settings, and users cannot change the UI options.
After you install the hotfix and set the value for the
registry entry to 1, inconsistent performance occurs when IMAP accounts click the Download headers in this folder command in Outlook 2007. For example, when an IMAP account clicks a command, full items instead of headers are downloaded to the active IMAP folder.
registry entry and the
registry entry are only enforced on the accounts that are included in existing Send/Receive groups. If an IMAP account is not included in any Send/Receive group, then these registry entries are not enforced on this account.
