SYMPTOMS
You publish Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Outlook Web Access (OWA) in a Microsoft Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 portal trunk. When a user changes their signature in OWA and includes a pipe symbol (|) in the signature text, the user receives an error message that states that they are trying to access a restricted URL.

In addition, the following error is generated in the IAG Web Monitor:
Bad Parameter in URL
Request failed, URL rejected by URL Inspection rule. Trunk: portal; Secure=1; Application Name: owa; Application Type: OWA2003SP1; Rule: OWA2003SP1_Rule3; Parameter: http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/signaturetext; Value: test|test; Failure reason: Parameter value failed 'Value' check; Source IP: 127.0.0.1; Method: POST; URL: /exchange/Administrator/.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because a defect in the implementation of the Exchange Server 2003 Outlook Web Access template prevents the pipe symbol (|) from being used in signatures.
