You publish Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Outlook Web Access (OWA) in a Microsoft Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 portal trunk. When a user changes their signature in OWA and includes a pipe symbol (|) in the signature text, the user receives an error message that states that they are trying to access a restricted URL.
In addition, the following error is generated in the IAG Web Monitor:
This problem occurs because a defect in the implementation of the Exchange Server 2003 Outlook Web Access template prevents the pipe symbol (|) from being used in signatures.
To resolve this problem, apply Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 Service Pack 2 Update 1. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
In the IAG Configuration console, click Configure next to Advanced Trunk Configuration.
On the URL Set tab, select the OWA2003SP1_Rule3 rule.
Locate the parameter named http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/[a-z0-9_]+. Click the Name Type column header to find the parameter more easily.
Change the [^*`|]* value to .* and then click OK.
Activate the configuration.
