In Microsoft Intelligent Application Gateway 2007, when you run a statistics report in Web Monitor, the report may not be generated and you may receive the following error message:
Active Server Pages, ASP 0113
Additionally, Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 may stop responding while the report is running.During this time, the memory usage of the MonitorMgrCom process may increase rapidly.
When reports are being built in Web Monitor, Intelligent Application Gateway tries to load the contents of all the log files for the selected time period into memory. If the Intelligent Application Gateway server handles a lot of client requests, loading these log files may consume large quantities of memory. When physical memory is exhausted, paging will increase and the performance of Intelligent Application Gateway is affected.
You may experience this problem when you increase the selected time interval. For example, you are more likely to encounter this problem when you are running a quarterly report than when you are running a monthly report. Performance may start to be affected if the total size of the log file data for the selected time period is greater than 50 percent of the physical RAM on the Intelligent Application Gateway server.
To resolve this problem, install Update 1 for Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2).For more information about Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 SP2 Update 1, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
968384 Description of Update 1 for Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 Service Pack 2
The report generation behavior has been changed in Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 SP2 Update 1. After you install this update, you can define a maximum amount of data that Intelligent Application Gateway will try to load to generate a report. If this amount is exceeded, Intelligent Application Gateway sends you a warning and suggests a range of dates that is within this limit.
The default value for the maximum amount of data Intelligent Application Gateway will load for report generation is 800 megabytes (MB). To set a different value, configure the following registry entry:
In the MaxReportSize entry, enter a value that is measured in MBs.
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
Run reports that cover shorter periods of time. For example, if a quarterly report causes this problem, try to run monthly reports instead.
Increase the ASP script time-out value in Internet Information Services (IIS) for the WhaleWebMonitor Web site. When you do this, the report may be completed successfully, but the Intelligent Application Gateway performance may not be improved..
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
