The disk management services could not complete the operation.

Resolution

You can work around this issue with one of the following methods:
  • Use the Disk Management MMC snap-in to import the foreign disk.
  • Use the 32-bit version of Diskpart.exe.

Note: To use the 32-bit version of Diskpart.exe, you will need to copy it to an alternate directory on your 64-bit server, and then run Diskpart directly from that directory.
